First Baptist Church, Port Alberni

Welcome to First Baptist Church, Port Alberni, 6211 Cherry Creek Road.  We have been active in the Alberni Valley since 1942, celebrating 75 years of service in 2017.

We are a member church of the  the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC).
We support the work of the Canadian Baptist Ministries, Partners in Mission missionaries and Jericho Road Boys’ Project (Pat Kokura) in Uganda.

We are also a member of the Alberni Valley NeighbourLink Society and the Alberni Valley Ministerial Association.

Our vision is to be a church that unchurched people love to attend. Our mission is “Connecting people to Jesus and one another.”  Our values are:  the Bible, meaningful worship, prayer and fellowship.

We moved to our present location (a former school) after fire destroyed our church in February, 2004.  Our church has been remodelled and redesigned to suit our needs very well.

We share our premises with other community groups eg. Farmers’ Market rents the gym and undercover area for Saturday market all year long.  TOPS meets in the seniors’ room every Tuesday evening.

While our congregation is small, we are family focused and thus our worship service is both contemporary and traditional.  We have Sunday school for Grades 1 to 5 during the worship service.

There is a Thursday afternoon prayer meeting,  a Wednesday ladies’ Bible study and a Thursday evening Life group. Seniors meet the last Friday of every month for a fellowship luncheon and activities back at the church.

Please prayerfully consider joining us to worship on Sunday mornings.  Our service begins at 11:00am with Children’s Ministries beginning at 11:15am.

Church office hours are Tuesday to Friday, 9 am – 4 pm                                                  Contact Pastor Bill Cottrill at 250-723-7441                                                                      Email: bill.fbcport@shaw.ca or firstbaptistport@shaw.ca
